I still believe in the Calgary Flames!!!!

To all the Fans of the Flames that can Boo at the Flames, shame on you.  Just because they have their heads suck on them doesn’t mean that they aren’t a good team.  They have a talent and they could just be going through a slump because their egos are bruised doesn’t mean we have the right at add salt to the wound.  The Flyers had a bad season but look at them now.

All teams go through this transformation and evolution and anxiety of living up to the expectations of the fans, the team and ultimately themselves and for some odd reason some teams have to slump to know what is out there and that they can do it. It’s like peace and war.  You really don’t know what true peace unless there is war.  Like hockey and gelling together, the Flames knew what it took to go all the way and now they have to stop looking back to what they did in 2003-04 and actually look at how they have now and use it to their abilities.

You have Iggy, but unfortunately the other teams know him as well and they can shut him down and prevent him from doing what he knows best. It is always nice to know that he can score but come on, in the team there is no “I” and nor can the team keep passing to him 99% of the time for him to bring the team out of their lalala land of Iggy can do it all.

Yes, he can try but seriously, a NASCAR driver has to rely on his pit crew to keep the car in tune, the driver can only do so much before the car gives.  The car in my analogy would be kipper, he can only carry the team so for, and he needs help to keep the pucks out of his net.  Yes he’s being paid a lot but if you create a screen or give no communication then it’s like the pit crew switching jobs at the last minute. When a forward tries to help with the D, he needs to give space for kipper and keep the opponents from tipping or redirecting the puck.

I think the defence is okay but when they start chasing the players behind the net, the forwards need to help out.  The defence just need to protect the 5 feet radius area of the kipper.  If they protect that area without causing a penalty then  the only concern would be to see if the referees will call them or just pick on you.  Arguing with them just causes a loop sided games like how Calgary was in Colorado in the beginning of nov.  Nothing will get accomplish and the games will appear more fixed than anything. Seriously why can there be so many penalities in a span of 10 minutes, especially in the first period.  The only thing that helps me deal with this craziness is that God let it happen because the flames could handle it.  Who knows what motivated anyone these days.
