Gym Week 1

Hello, my name is Laura and I have an overweight problem. First week of going to the gym and I walk and especially sit like a granny.  Key to every work out is stretching before and after.  My trainer didn’t tell me that part and for the last two days I am paying the price.  

It’s amazing how you re-discover or shall I say it discover muscles that you have never used before.  I think because of cost, I probably can’t afford a trainer  but getting a taste of what to do is exciting.  I know that with a little effort it will be easy to lose.  I did a 30 minute workout with the trainer and I lost 2 pounds..lol..Crazy but worth the pain in my eyes.

My goal is to report to the gym 3 time a week and maybe once on the Sunday.  The gym can really fill up so I need to gage when the best time is for me.  I like Sunday because when I went to sign up, nobody was really there and I liked that.  We’ll see how it goes. 

1.     Always stretch

2.     Always drink water after every set

3.     Shake it out when you feel stiff

4.     Did I say stretch when shaking doesn’t help

5.     Always smile that you made it to the gym

6.     No pain no gain/ weight loss.

I know that working out is good and I prefer to go lone wolf.  Having a work out buddy is nice but it can be distracting.  We’ll see how things go.  I just like doing things on my own.
