Boys over Flowers Korean Verison…Ji Hoo is Jandi’s Soulmate or best friend or guardian angel

Wiki has stated that Soulmate is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, love, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, and/or compatibility.  A related concept is that of the twin flame or twin soul – which is thought to be the ultimate soulmate, the one and only other half of one’s soul, for which all souls are driven to find and join. However, not everyone who uses these terms intends them to carry such mystical connotations.

The more I think about it, Ji Hoo is more like a soul mate for Jan di, Woobin was correct that they were both at ease and at peace when they are around each other.   When they were living together with grandfather, it seem more like brother and sister, she was able to make a family for Ji Hoo with reuniting them together.   She in the beginning was Ji Hoo’s strength to brave his emotions to be with his first love.  Knowing that Ji Hoo’s heart was not free to have she turned to Jun Pyo who showed moments of tenderness and caring towards her.  

With all his elitism, wealth and power, Jun Pyo lack one things, show human emotions and know that life is more about the people around you and not about money or wealth.  He learned this important factor when Jan Di stood up against him and didn’t want hand outs, or money to be changed into something that Jun Pyo could call his girlfriend.  She taught him what a family is like, how it’s okay to lower, because you will have home where parents love you and love that cannot ever be bought.

The only thing that makes me sad is how cruel they have made Ji Hoo’s character caught in a spot where his feelings for Jan Di are growing and his need to be near her and protect her is an instinct than a obligation.  She has done a great deal for him, getting him to face a lot of his fears,

1.       Being near his first love

2.       Being willing to protect someone

3.       Getting him behind the wheel to drive again

4.       Facing his fears from his grandfather

5.       Facing his fear to live with his grandfather

6.       Facing his true feelings for Jan Di

7.       Facing the future and path of his parent

I believe that Jan Di has more tender moments with Ji Hoo but I do not think her intentions were a romantic love but a love for a dear friend.  Its funny that we have a conception that a girl can’t have a close relationship with a guy but I think that is possible once the intial emotions are out and over.  Why can’t two people be friends who are the opposite sex?  Why must they date?
